Maggie

Maggie was very much the baby of the family. Maggie weighed 240lbs at her heaviest, and easily could have weighed 20 lbs more. Maggie was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder at the age of 1 year called Immune Mediated Poly-Arthritis. Like Chaucer, Maggie developed symptoms of this disorder within 60-90 days of receiving her rabies vaccine.
Immune Mediated Poly-Arthritis is a devastating disorder. This disorder caused Maggie's immune system not to recognize itself, causing her immune system to attack her body, particularly her joints. Towards the end of her life, Maggie was a tortured soul, with severe arthritis in her hocks due to her illness, not to mention feeling lousy overall. Life was a struggle for Maggie, but she was a real trooper, and an incredibly sweet girl.
There have been rumors that immune problems are in Maggie's line. Please make sure you find out all you can about the lines of the puppy you intend to buy. Also, please be informed before blindly following your vet's vaccine protocol.
