Chaucer
7/26/96 - 7/6/03
Chaucer was our first mastiff, and was all that we could ask for. Chaucer never met a person he didn't like, and was just an incredibly sweet dog. The above picture is one of my favorites of him, as it shows how sweet and soulful he was.
Chaucer had 15 points and 1 major, and only needed 1 major to earn his Championship. Chaucer hated showing so much, we decided to just let him be the couch potato he wanted to be.
Chaucer contracted an unknown auto-immune disorder that destroyed his blood platelets. He started showing signs of the disorder at the age of 5 & 1/2 years of age with never any health problems before this. He contracted the disorder within 60 days of receiving his rabies vaccine. We can't say for sure that this was the cause, but there is a growing ground swell of support that stongly suggests that we are grossly over-vaccinating our dogs.
Please be informed before blindly following your vet's vaccine protocol.
